The Recovery Phase

The recovery phase post workout is extremely important. There are 3 aspects to muscle damage after a rigorous training routine; physical, hormonal and biochemical. The physical damage to the muscle is the initial damage caused. Hormonal damage comes in the form of cortisol, which stimulates muscle protein breakdown. The third cause (biochemical) is due to the generation of free radicals; these highly reactive molecules can damage cell membranes and may also deactivate key enzymes associated with proper functioning of the immune system. To limit the extent to which these occur you should be supplementing with Monkey Primal26, Super-Carb and Matrix Pak, or for an all in one combo use Monkey M-Fusion.
