Like it, love it, hate it or even fear it,
there’s no doubt that the sport of MMA (mixed
martial arts) is starting to make waves across the globe. The expansion of the
sports largest promotion, the UFC, has no doubt eclipsed all competitors with
most acting as talent feeders. Some people who are new to the sport even call
it UFC.
It’s not all been positive, however, and
the advent of the term ‘cagefighting/fighter’ and the lack of professionalism
with cowboy promotions...

Last week Monkey published part 1 of the Victor Estima interview. In part 1 the new World Champion told us of the upmost respect he has for brother Braulio, his passion for playing guitar and football as well as his view on No Gi Middle Weight favourite Davi Ramos. Jamie Paxman started Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu just under 4 years ago and instantly fell in love with the sport. His passion and dream is to become a world champion; to gain recognition amongst his peers in the BJJ community and ultimately to have his own academy where he can share his knowledge and experiences with a new generation of young enthusiasts.
Jamie began his career in BJJ at a local club but couldn't see his future been fulfilled there. It was time to move on and seek the help...

Last week Monkey paid a visit to Gracie Barra Midlands; the home of a new BJJ World Champion and Team Monkey Athlete, Professor Victor Estima.
